"Breakout" es una canción de la banda británica Swing Out Sister y que fue publicada como single un 3 de Octubre del año 1986 promocionando su exitosos disco debut "It's Better to Travel".
Con este aclamado trabajo musical, esta banda oriunda de Manchester y cuyo nombre derivaba de una película de los años 40's se hizo reconocina en la escena del Pop ochentero gracias a su llamativa mezcla de Pop con tintes de Acid Jazz, lo cuál cautivó a los medios de comunicación.
Formada en el año 1985 por el tecladista Andy Connell y el baterista Martin Jackson, quienes se sacaron la lotería al encontrar una vocalista de alta calidad, y además muy bella, como Corinne Drewery, quien se dedicaba hasta ese entonces como diseñadora de moda, la cupal era su profesión que había estudiado en Londres. Esta canción fue todo éxito para Swing Out Sister, ya que logró entrar en el cuarto puesto en el UK Sngles Charts y además sacó mas que aplausos en los EE.UU. donde esta pieza llegó al sexto lugar del Billboard Hot 100, siendo una grata sorpresa para los medios. Además gracias a "Breakout" la banda se ganó una nominación al Grammy enla sección Mejor Interpretación Vocal Pop.

El sencillo "You on my mind", del segundo álbum "kaleidoskope World". No tuvo tanto exito como el anterior single "breakout", pero para los seguidores de este excelente grupo queda en muy grato recuerdo. Ya que es una canción de fuerte optimismo, y la primera vez en los años 80´s que se podía escuchar una mezcla de pop&swing tan maravillosa como esta.
